Candle, 'Sleeping Narayana'
Narayana stretches out to sleep on his throne beneath the sea. While the Hindu god sleeps, all is well and the world is happy. But if evil poses a threat, he flies to the rescue, carried by the strong wings of Garuda, who has the face of an eagle but the body of a human. Portrayed in relief on an exquisite candle, the figures are created in ancient Khmer style. A design by Vatcharee Sritrakul, the candle features two wicks. It arrives in a gift box of saa (mulberry) paper.
