Wood candleholder, 'Respect'

The king of the jungle kneels obediently for his master. The mighty elephant is realistically depicted in a candleholder from Vatcharee Sritrakul. Carved by hand from mango wood, it features bamboo tusks and a steel candle dish. Elephants hold a revered place in Thailand where their enormous size, yet seemingly gentle, sensitive natures and tremendous intelligence inspire fascination.
