'Great Buddha'

Carved of stone and situated in Ayuthaya, Buddha's serene presence inspires Noi's photographic art. "I wanted to capture the beauty of these ancient sculptures, because they are so realistic as well as spiritually rich, " says Noi with admiration.

'Lomi Akha Bride'

Tradition colors the costume of this young Lomi Akha bride with rich, festive elegance. She wears an embroidered cotton jacket and elaborate headdress, which includes a cap featuring large studs, silver balls and pendants cast of shiny silver.

'Nan'

Existing in a reverie outside the constriction of time, a Buddha sits framed by ancient murals in the viharn, or main assembly hall of a Thai temple. The gold-covered statue shows the stylistic influence of Laos in its features.

'Sukhothai I'

An imposing Naga dragon has guarded the entrance to this temple from time immemorial, is presence enduring despite the transcendence of the Sukhothai empire.

'Spanish Moss'

Standing tall in a sunlit meadow, a casuarina tree echoes the line of a distant peak in the Brazilian sierra. Barba de velho (Spanish moss) shrouds the branches in its softly curling lace and sways gently in the breeze.
