Ceramic wall art, 'Wild Orchids'

A dazzling array of wild orchids waft delicate fragrance from brilliant petals. Artfully arranged in a porcelain jar, they center a colorful still life by Amita. She creates the abstract work in cold ceramic. First, the artist makes a paste of ceramic powder and plaster of Paris. She sets two layers of the paste inside a mango wood frame and creates a detailed high-relief composition, which she embellishes with oil paints.
