Brass statuettes, 'Vishnu and Lakshmi'

She is the wife of Lord Vishnu and is the goddess of prosperity, purity, chastity and generosity. Vishnu stands majestically, holding formidable weapons with which he battles the forces of adversity. Heralded as the deity of preservation in Hindu tradition, he too stands on a lotus pedestal.
