Papier mache masks, 'Inca Offering' (pair)
Traditionally worn for sacrificial rites, these Inca masks were considered as amulets to communicate with the apus (gods) and ask for their favor. Jaime Zapata hand-crafts the masks from a combination of papier-mach and plaster of Paris; the masks are adorned with jute headdresses.
