Beadwork mask, 'The Moon's Healing Magic'

Six-sided peyote blossoms pose on the forehead of the moon herself. They guard the black spirals that represent yuawi � the curative power of the shaman. Joined by butterflies and white birds, they reveal the cosmology of the Huichol people. Higinio Hern�ndez creates a mesmerizing mask, forming the bright patterns with tiny beads.
