Painted ceramic retablo, \'The Last Supper\'
The colorful scene of the Last Supper is recreated from a traditional Andean viewpoint by the Mamani family artisans, imbuing the piece with great originality and charm. This delightful ceramic plaque will adorn any home interior, infusing a sense of traditional Peruvian culture created with consummate and ancestral artistry. The talented artisans of the Mamani family endeavor to reflect the proud culture of their ancestors through their work, and each piece is created from selected clay and fired in a kiln at 1472F (800C). The object is then painted with natural paints made with earth and other local substances, although sometimes latex based is used to provide certain tones and texture to the work. Note: Please bear in mind that when you order this product you will receive one that might show slight differences to the one you see in the photo - this is due to the entirely hand-crafting process which assures the uniqueness of each piece rendering it impossible for the artisan to create two completely identical items. The differences you might observe can be in the form of asymmetric lines, uneven colors or porosity. This is an inevitable result of the traditional hand-crafting process, one which actually characterizes this type of ceramic work, adding distinction and nobility to each piece.
