Retablo, 'Crucifixion'

The midday sky is dark as even nature appears distressed at the scene. Alejandro Ch�vez depicts the crucifixion of Christ. At the foot of the cross, two disciples show their grief and angels accompany them. Christ's sacrifice on the cross is one of the mysteries of the Christian faith. Known as a retablo, this traditional diorama is housed in a colorful chest crafted of wood and painted. Ch�vez carefully models each figure and paints them by hand.
